The fantasy world began with a spark that kept going through the darkest days. Maintaining focus in the lonely hours filled with writing. The idea flowed as it built momentum to the end. With an imagination that provided the ignition to the flame. That burned bright until the final stage was done. This is how I began writing. It took on a life of its own with the world building process. Then it gathered speed as the characters come to life on the page. This idea travels on holding the story together until it reaches the end. It is the strength and glue that held everything together. It shaped the scenes that led to the reason why the story was given life and meaning. It is the spark. The small drop that falls into the ocean, becoming so much more than what it could have been.
Taking Form
The spark of imagination can grow and take on a life of its own. If I had known that something dreamed of would take so many turns and lead in so many directions. I would have been amazed at the outcome. It has been a journey of surprises. I have encountered characters that grew beyond my expectations. They took on a life of their own, and for that I am grateful. It has given me so much more as a writer, and has led me in directions I would not have foreseen. It has been a long journey, but I am grateful for the outcomes that have been achieved. If there is one thing I have learned it is that everything has a beginning. This may start with an end, but sometimes the end has to come to make the beginning.
New Directions
My imagination has led me in many directions. It held the story together as the series developed, and is the reason for the strength behind the idea. Writing has taken my imagination further, leading the story beyond my expectations. If there is any advice I can give it is to have faith in your own ability. Do not be afraid to explore your imagination, you never know where it could lead. For me it has led on amazing journey. I am forever grateful for making a start from that small spark in the beginning.
The Journey
It is inspiring to think the story came from a dream. This existed long before any word was written on the page, a dream that held my mind for many years. It took a great amount of courage to open up, and share the world I had imagined. This has been a journey as much for me as it has been for my characters.
